We know…Friday is waning, but isn’t it always a good time for a fun, free quilt pattern?
And here’s this week’s gift: Go Bananas by Susan Guzman of SuzGuz Designs.
This perky, blocky design originally ran in the June-July 2009 issue of Quilter’s Home. We can just see it done in some solids from Robert Kaufman and maybe a few charming prints from Lizzy House’s 1001 Peeps.
This too-simple-for-words pattern is available on the Quilter’s Home website. Just click here and the cyber winds will blow you there immediately.
Now, what has Susan been up to since she designed this treat for us back in the day? Well… it’s a pretty long list (and includes moving from Colorado to South Carolina to Colorado to Indiana…no lie!). But here are the highlights:
* worked as associate editor for McCall’s Quilting and McCall’s Quick Quilts
* wrote/edited/produced Amy Butler’s Sunshine Quilt for Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, Volumes 2 and 3
* learning digital design to enhance her business
* refreshing her website and reviving her Nuzletter this fall (see previous issues of this mini-magazine online at www.SuzGuzDesigns.com)
* expanding her line of SuzGuz Designs patterns
Okay, so we’re tired just typing all that! Thanks, Susan, for being a part of the Friday Freebie!–Jake and Melissa
